Rasa Salon was a featured salon and did live hair styling at 900AM-WURD’s event,“WURD Speaks: Black Beauty Politics” The evening began with a panel discussion about the fascinating, complicated and sometimes controversial ways Black beauty has been portrayed since Africans arrived on American shores (6:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M.), immediately followed by a book signing and relaunch reception for Hair Story: Untangling the Roots of Black Hair in America by Ayana D. Byrd and Lori L. Tharps.
